My name is Lindsay Altoft.
I grew up in a quiet and beautiful area of the Niagara Region in Ontario. In 2007 I graduated from the four-year Photography Program at the Ontario College of Art & Design in downtown Toronto.
I see the world frame by frame; my interest in people, their differences, mannerisms and beauty is the reason portraits are my thing. I'm a lifestyle portrait photographer with an alternative and editorial/fashion flare. I capture an individual other than the way they might see themselves in the mirror.
I use framing and dramatic lighting to bring a fresh view to each subject. I use the environments I photograph in to reflect my subjects and their emotion.
I appreciate the raw reality of everyday life, and the fleeting beauty of those in-between moments.
I want my viewers to relate to my photographs through recognition and familiarity with the situations, the emotions, and the energy so much that they wonder if they are looking at a picture of someone they know.
I love people, life, and the art of photography… allow me to captivate you.
